@phoebelamour No elastic, or much give. It’s a pretty solid 28”. If you don’t mind the true pinup look and feel you can squish a 29” waist in these, but if you want to be comfortable I’d stick with 28-28.5 max. Hope that helps.

@phoebelamour Oh actually, one additional option (because I’ve never seen another pair of these), you can add to the waistband with fabric from the inner lining or if you hem just an inch. I’ve done this do another piece in the same fabric, and because the culottes are gathered, there’s room to add to the waist if your into a sewing project.
