Traditional Zinacantan handwoven poncho style blouse

Traditional Zinacantan handwoven poncho style blouse with hand embroidered birds and flowers. The top has a slit neckline trimmed in aqua blue satin, open side seams with tie closures, and slips on overhead. The time consuming handwork was done by an expert craftsman with incredible attention to detail. The cool-hued color combination is unbelievably beautiful. The sides of the blouse are violet with fine vertical pink, blue, and metallic stripes. The center is a rich red with subtle white stripes. The bottom 2.5” of the blouse is solid embroidery. Hand twisted fringe trims the hem. The multi-color crocheted tie closures and finished edges were also done by hand and are incredibly detailed. It’s not at all noticeable.
