Torey is one of my babies. He is 10 yrs. old now (6/19/13) and was paralyzed as a kitten at 8 weeks of age. He recovered from the paralysis to his rear legs and can feel them now. Someone found him at a boat dock. Adopted him from animal hospital. He has had surgery on his legs, but, unfortunately his injuries left his knee joints "locked" . He moves like a seal pulling his body by his front legs. And boy can he move! Hence the name Torey-nado! He is happy and healthy!

jh777flowers Aww! Poor baby!!! He lucky to have a loving mommy like you to love him! He doesn't know any different! I have a little girl that look just like him! I love animals! I have 4 cat and a dog! There my kids! Lol! My dog Jessica got bit by a raccoon ! She had to have 3 surgeries! The vet bill was $$$$! She's doing a lot better now finely healing! Winky one of my cats last year had surgery too! He got bit by possium or raccoon ! He was in the vet for a week! Every one is inside after dark now!

jh777flowers God bless you for adopting hm! I rescued 2 from my apartments I own! I was just going to waite til they were old enought to care for them selfs! Today I still have the two Winky and Kenny-Kenny and I rescued a rotwiller and I still have her too! She's a real good dog! I rescued her from my son! And I inherited 2 cats from the lady I used to take care of! I promised her I would take good care of them! She changed her will and left everything to me! Her duplexes and everything she owned! She was an only child and no children I told her that I will never have to work again ! That would be my retirement! God Bless her!

kelly32068 @forrest19 soooo cute 💋 we rescued a little white kitty that had epilepsy and had gran maul seizures so had to give him medicine 😊 had him for 11 yr.'s before his seizures got the best of him 😢 he was the best kitty 😍 his name was motor boat as he could purr so loud that's what it sounded like lol 😊❤️ it's awesome you made a lovable home for a special kitty 😘😊

I have 8 other cats, 2 dogs, a pet chicken, 2 doves and a partially blind blue jay. I did bird rehab for many years and the blue jay is now 15. I am a cat lover as well. lmpasternack @forrest19 God bless you for taking him in. What a doll baby he is! Like you said, so many just never find a forever home and don't know real love. I wish I could save them all! I will never purchase a dog again. Ever. I have 3 JRTs that I got from breeders. I wouldn't trade them for the world but our 4 rescue babies are the best dogs ever! We have rescued before but I fell for Jack's a long time ago. Now I can't keep up with them so I have 2 chihuahuas, a chi mix and a pekingese. Such great babies! They are all spoiled rotten but are well behaved. It's like they appreciate everything you do for them more if that makes sense. I had a German Shepherd rescue who was amazing and another chi we rescued for my mom and when she died we brought her home. She died of necrotic encephalitis. It was horrible. I literally fell on the floor sobbing when I got that news. I can barely speak about it without wanting to cry and she died 4 years ago now... 😢😢😢

I always am so saddened when I lose one, but, I have learned to think, hey, I gave them such and such years they would not have had otherwise. Like Torey, no one would probably have wanted him. I brought him home on a trial basis. The first morning he climbed up the side of the bed with great effort to get to me...that was all it took! Never took him back! No regrets. Blessings to you!

Good for you adopting a special soul w/medical probs..I've been involved in animal rescue since I was a kid & one sad part about it is the amount of careless people who don't take proper care of their pets or the jerks who ditch pets when they realize they are sick. tudie11 Cute kitty, you know, they have little kinda like wheelchair or little cart that back legs are attched on so he can move around more easily. Thanks for rescue-ing him, one less gor me to help. I do cat rescue, by the way, in my closet sre pictures of current 2 in my house, there are 2 more outdoors that I want to (humane ) trap snd bring indoors. My grey one and I are arguing about it.

vricca @forrest19 I have a rescue cat too. Found her on the way home. She had been hit by a car and left on the road. She was about eight weeks old. Broken pelvis and back leg shattered. Her name is Freeway and she will be 15 years old in Feburary💝💝💝💝the love of my life.

blackcatone3 @forrest19 Adorable cat! One of my cats stop walking at 10 years of age for no reason. X-rays showed her spine was fine. No trauma. The only advice the vet could give me was to put her down. I wasn't accepting that answer so I turned to holistic medicine. I took her to an animal chiropractor and an acupuncturist only a few times and she began to walk after about 5 months. Only a few inches at first but gradually she was walking normal. She couldn't jump up and had difficulty on the stairs but she lived for almost 7 more years. I used puppy stairs next to the sofa and my bed and a lower litter box and a higher feeding dish to make my household more friendly for her. Long story short cats are amazing creatures. They have a strong will and don't easily give up. Sounds like your cat gets around like a trooper! Please look into animal chiropractic treatment.. I told many of my friends about it and it helps cats and dogs alike.

The will to live and thrive is very strong. Torey is a great cat and he has adapted and fit into my household with my other cats and dogs. rands8763 My sister took in a deaf kitten whose Mom had been burned (and they have the nerve to call people animals!) and died. She has managed to become the alpha cat, even though she is the smallest cat my sister has! She has 4 beautiful rescues, a few have disabilities, which only adds to their character. rands8763 You're welcome...Oh when I read the stories, I cry. How people can mistreat an animal is beyond me. Taking in an animal with special needs is someone, in my book, who is an angel. I took care of our one dog who had diabetes. I gave her shots twice a day, spent over $6,000 when she had pancreatitis, lived for another year and was it worth it? You betcha!!

forrestsnowcat @vacat He actually came very close to being euthanized about the time I was interested in him. He had been in a cage awaiting adoption about 8 months. I took him home on a trial basis, and, I never took him back! Told them I wanted him and I have no regrets. Sometimes he has accidents on the floor, but, hey, that is what paper towels and Clorox Clean Up are for! Thanks again for your kind words!

vricca @forrest19 Freeway is so unique. She never grow-up. She is very tiny and has kitten like looks and acts like a kitten. She is very arthritic, but it does not stop her. Freeway surveyed a coyote attack in October!!! God only knows why I went outside at that moment as the coyote had her and was headed down the road. I ran, screaming ---the coyote dropped her. Off to the Emergency Aminal Hospital we went 😷😷😷😷

My vet boss said she didn't think he would make it, but, I did not give up. He just turned 10 last month! 😊🌺

We got her & her sister in February after we unexpectedly had to let our sweet 16 yr old kitty go to a cancerous tumor. My new baby is having health issues herself which are almost the exact problems I have had for years(kidney stones) so the vet says we are a match made in heaven. I hope you have many many years of enjoying each other. It was very nice meeting you too💕
