Tift and Whiting Coin Silver Butter Knife Antique Circa 1840-1853

This is a Tift and Whiting butter knife dating back to circa 1840-1853. Based on research, I believe the knife is made of coin silver, which typically contains 90% silver, and was a popular material for silverware during the 19th century. Marked with a Rooster, T&W, and Arm and Hammer (see last photo). Owners initials engraved on one side of handle. Overall, good condition. Some tarnishing and wear. Approximately 7” long. 37.54 grams.
