exquisite_pear @loveluxury_96 Hi ~~Hoping this finds You & All of Yours Safe & Healthy!! On me, this necklace does sit close to choker length. The Barrel Bead would rest in the middle of my 2 collar bones, in the nook. On me, the necklace is not as snug as a choker. It has a little room to move when worn. If about 1.5” were to be removed, on me it would be a true choker. Hope this helps!!

exquisite_pear @loveluxury_96 Hi ~ Continue to Hope for Health in your part of our upside down world!! Yes, the barrel does slide fluidly along both chains. The barrel is not fixed & can slide from end to end of the chains. However, I don’t think it would actually slide off. I will go check!!
