hello_kimmy3 @thriftystudent Response from Thursday Boots: Our Legacy sneakers in gum soles are made using Strobel construction method. A strobel construction has the upper stitched, then the upper is cemented into the outsole. This is a little different than cement construction because the leather does not wrap around an insole board. Strobel construction is a more flexible construction, not more rigid. This is the same construction often used in running or regular sneakers.
