This book is very intact and the pages pages very clean and well kept. Beautiful glossy prints and photographs. In this dark pessimism lies the central quality of Michelangelo genius. It is fitting therefore that this book the first of a distinguished new series on Western art, should be devoted to this tragic and embittered human being - the wonder of his time and ours.
