The Metropolitan Museum Of Art Lion Repro Brooch Signed, J64
The Metropolitan Museum of Art Lion Brooch is a reproduction piece of an ancient "golden lion head" dated between the 6th and 4th centuries BC. This brooch features a cherished image of a lion with its mouth open in a snarl or roar. The lion's head is beautifully and realistically rendered, with half-closed eyes and detailed mane illustrated in an openwork design. It measures approximately 2 inches in width and 1.75 inches in length. This brooch is hallmarked © THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART on an embossed rectangular plaque on the reverse. It has a secure locking pin at the back that functions properly and is in good vintage condition.
