The Golden Hind Coppercraft Copper Etching Artwork Framed

Vintage copper etching of the old sailing ship The Golden Hind. Signed "JK" Coppercraft by Pleasure Reproductions Essex, England This is one in a series. Wood frame with wire hanger on back. In very good vintage condition. Nice bright copper color with textured etching. **Does show some cosmetic wear - light discoloration and small scratches which are not very prominent when displayed. **Back of artwork also shows cosmetic wear. Measures 9.5" X 11.5" The **Golden Hind** was a galleon captained by Sir Francis Drake during his circumnavigation of the world between 1577 and 1580. The ship was originally named **Pelican**, but Drake renamed it mid-voyage in 1578 in honor of his patron, Sir Christopher Hatton, whose crest was a golden hind (a female red deer). The ship was built in 1577 and weighed about 120 tons. The ship was armed with 22 guns and had a complement of 80-85 men. From pet and smoke free home.
