THIS IS IS A RARE “BACK TO THE FUTURE III” “MARTY McFLY” MODEL SPINNING SPUR BELT BUCKLE. I HAVE READ THIS BELT BUCKLE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THERE IS A SIMILAR WITH A ROULETTE WHEEL THAT IS NOT AS SOUGHT AFTER. THE BRASS BELT BUCKLE INCLUDES A LADY (Gal) LEG DESIGN, WITH AN ACTUAL SPINNING SPUR, ON THE FRONT .. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT IT WAS MADE IN THE 1980’S BY AWARD DESIGN MEDALS. A VERY NEAT PIECE. THIS OVAL BUCKLE IS THE SAME BRAND AND MODEL OF BELT BUCKLE THAT MICHAEL J. FOX WORE AS “MARTY McFLY” IN “THE BACK TO THE FUTURE III” MOVIE, IN 1990 . IF YOU WATCH THE MOVIE YOU WILL SEE MARTY McFLY WEARING THE BELT BUCKLE MODEL INSIDE THE INDIAN CAVE, AS HE REMOVES THE ARROW WHICH HAD JUST PUNCTURED THE “FLUX CAPACITOR.” IT IS IS IN VERY GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION. IT MEASURES: 3 3/4” WIDE X 2 3/4” TALL, AND HAS A BELT HOOK AND BELT HOLDER ON THE REVERSE. These were made by Award Design Metals in Norman, OK. This one is also collectible because the “Gal Leg” is one of the most popular handcrafted designs in the west. The spur on this belt bukle moves—it will spin around. The back it reads: The leg shaped shank on this spur was solely responsible for making the Gal Leg one of the most popular.
