EGYPTIAN MUMMY SHAPED- Ancient Egypt Pencil Case This fascinating pencil tin is based on the mummy of an Egyptian called Seshepenmehyt, which dates to around 625 BC. The mummy is now on display in the British Museum.  The design of the tin is copied from the wooden inner coffin of Seshepenmehyt, dating from the 26th Dynasty, c.625 BC. The mummy has a green face, similar to the god Osiris, the ruler of the Kingdom of the Dead. Osiris was often represented with green skin because of his associations with the continuous life-cycle of plants, which symbolised rebirth in ancient Egypt. RARE Measures 8 1/2" L x 2" W x 1"D Excellent condition Offers welcome
