Softcover book in good condition. Clean pages, tight binding I have my own copy of this book & really enjoyed reading it. It is a novel based on true events----the Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project started by President Roosevelt, women rode horses to deliver library books to people & It's also about the Blue Fugates of Kentucky---some of the Fugates & their relatives were born with dark blue skin due to a genetic medical condition. They lived their entire lives as blue people & were ostracized by others. This book is especially meaningful to me as I descend from the Blue Fugates of Kentucky. One of my 3rd great grandmother's was born Rebecca Fugates. I had the privilege of visiting her grave & that of her husband, After Fields one of my 3rd great grandfather's, in Kansas last year. ***Half of the proceeds from this book will go to The Village Nac, a non profit tiny home community for people who have experienced mental health issues, trauma, and/or homelessness***
