Temple Toy Camel India

Temple Toys are actually devotional donations mainly for Khandoba and forms of Shiva alike in Central India. These toys were typically made in the 19th century as collectible toys for children in the temples of India. For centuries these bronze pieces have been sought after by collectors. Indian children have played with these in temples throughout India. And, many pieces are now displayed in museums. This little wonder used to have a rider. The camel looks just as beautiful without his burden. I have taken many pictures from all angles to show you the condition of the piece. Please look carefully. The patina is gorgeous. The camel is handsome and the saddle is stately. All of the wheels still turn. He awaits a good home and a place of prominence.
