Each plate has a darker color mixed in to give the appearance of crackling. Please see close up of the mustard plate for the best example. Each plate is 6” square and both dishwasher & microwave safe. Each plate is black on the bottom. These are lovely plates for fall, but you certainly can use them year round. No chips or cracks.
