Gorgeous high low tadashi shoji gown. Worn once at my sisters wedding. I am 5’10 and got it tailored (cut off the train) and it still hit the ground with approx 2 inch heels. There is some dirt and marks from my spray tan but the dress has not been dry cleaned. Gorgeous and unique dress that I received many compliments on!!

Hi looks beautiful! Would you have - or do you think there is enough material from the train or from what you tailored off to add sleeves to the elbow?
Thanks, Chaya

@chayamz1 left the extra fabric with the seamstress. I am going to contact her and see if she still has it because it was a lot of fabric.I canmeasure the part of the trim that’s left to see if it’s enough material for what you need. I will get back to you in a few hours.not sure where you’re located but I went to mood fabric in Manhattan. They have an incredible selection of fabrics and I got some for my daughter’s wedding dress to make a cover-up for the ceremony.

@chayamz1 My seamstress still has the extra fabric. I will get it and post pictures so you can see if it is helpful.

Love the dress. I’m also 5’10” . There aren’t any photos of the tailoring or bottom (train)of the dress where it was altered.

@planejanethrift hey! I added some more pictures. It was hemmed. I didn’t notice until checking that the hemming came undone in two spots. You can’t tell an alteration was made it just looks like a shorter version of the train…that’s not so short because me being 5’10 with heels on it still hit the ground! :) hope this helps.
