This romantic suspense novel "THE CAPTIVE" begins in England. It is a story of a girl in the early 1900s, whose parents were absent minded Egyptologists and had barely noticed her existence. She was raised in a large house by the servants. When she was almost 18 she was taken on a world lecture tour with her parents. They were to travel aboard a ship from England and were to return to England by traveling up the American Coast, but things went terribly wrong.
