Eat a Peach is a double album by the Allman Brothers Band, originally released in February of 1972, by Capricorn Records. Produced by Tom Dowd, it serves as the band's third studio album and second live album due to its mixture of live and studio recordings. It was originally intended to be a solid studio album, but on October 29, 1971, lead and slide guitarist, Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident in the band's adopted hometown of Macon, Georgia, making it the final album to feature the groups' leader and founder.
On release, 'Eat a Peach' was an immediate commercial success, peaking at #4 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart.
Singles from the album include 'Ain't Wastin' Time No More' which reached #77 on the Billboard Hot 100. 'Melissa' and 'One Way Out' both peaked at #86.
'Eat a Peach' was ultimately certified Platinum by the RIAA in the US.
