Joey was the third bear in a line of Holiday bears sold in the 1980s at Zales Jewelers. Zales commissioned Swarovski Crystal to make a bear each year for customers to purchase and collect. To be quite honest, I don't think they made them for Zales after the third year because the sales were so overwhelming, they began making their own bears and animals and small Objets de Arte to sell under their own name. Previously, Swarovski had sold major items like chandeliers and very large works of art. It was about this time their own products expanded and blew onto the scene into the 80's with long necklaces and little baubles like pineapples, boats, poodles, etc with their logo on the bottom. Those mass produced pieces have little to no value today. However, this bear with the T on the bottom (which stands for TRIMLITE) are the original bears sought after by collectors today. Swarovski made them, but wouldn't put their logo on them. You can read this in any Swarovski/TRIMLITE book. I think Joey is the cutest with his candy cane and red bowtie. His cap to one side is adorable too. He is made up of three crystals (body, head and ear) and one half crystal under the black of his nose. If I'm not mistaken, the black eyes and his nose are black cabochon crystals.
