the pendant measures 36x23mm, and is appointed with a dimensional brass scarab. above it is a bezel-set coin of abalone shell, a sea-borne material associated not only with the heart but with the rising sun! the back is stamped with a traditional heart scarab inscription: "o my heart, stand not against me as witness". the chain is seriously chunky; it is cobbled together from five different styles, and includes a be-dotted disc, a large hammered link, and a jumbo lobster claw clasp. although this necklace was made for the scarab to guard your heart (23 inches), the chain is such that it can be clasped at shorter lengths if desired.
