Sterling silver and onyx studded artisan ring size 8.5

here's a unique artisan sterling silver and onyx size 8.5 ring. There are sterling studs surrounding the round onyx cabochon. To me, the ring has a tribal style and is very unique. Im not a gemologist nor did I test this rings stone. It may be glass or some other material but my research tells me its onyx.
