Vintage Sterling Silver Necklace with Grossular Garnet Gemstones

This is a glistening Sterling Silver Necklace, marked "925" on the underside (see photo #3), accented with six dark green Grossular Garnet semi-precious gemstones individually set in silver and edged with swirls and 4 tiny silver balls. Also known as "Tsavorite" which is a rare, highly desired grossular garnet which are seen in a variety of gorgeous greens. Tsavorite is a great alternative to Emeralds. This vintage necklace measures 10 1/2" from the S clasp to the bottom drop and each oval Tsavorite gem measures approximately 8.9 mm in width. This beautiful Y necklace has been created with solid sterling silver chain which allows the necklace to sit comfortably around the neck. The lovely green Garnets are January's birth stone and shine beautifully in this sterling necklace. Under a jeweler’s loupe natural inclusions are visible in the faceted Tsavorite stones.
