I handcrafted these beautiful chainmail earrings in the helm flower weave, from 18 gauge, 100% Argentium Sterling Silver jump rings, which I make from Argentium wire. The earrings' length is 3 1/2". The earrings have decorative French ear wires. The light green beads are faux pearls and have a rich luster. The beads are vintage from new old stock. The earrings are lightweight and very comfortable. Chainmail jewelry is made by connecting jump rings one at a time. The process embodies patience, precision, artistry, and most importantly, a love of taking precious metal and beautiful stones, and transforming them into beautiful works of art. What is Argentium Sterling Silver? Argentium contains 9.6% silver. Standard sterling silver contains 92.5%. That’s why it is sometimes called “925 silver”. All sterling silver contains an alloy, usually copper. British scientists discovered that replacing some of the copper with a germanium alloy, resulted in a dramatic decrease in the rate of oxidation.
