I handcrafted this bold and beautiful chainmail bracelet in the European 4-in-1 Weave from 16 gauge, 100% Argentium Sterling Silver jump rings, which I make from Argentium wire. The bracelet’s length is 7 3/4" and it contains 53 grams of Argentium Sterling Silver. It has a rectangular hammered box clasp with safety lock. Chainmail jewelry is made by connecting jump rings one at a time. What is Argentium Sterling Silver? Argentium contains 9.6% silver. Standard sterling silver contains 92.5%. That’s why it is sometimes called “925 silver”. All sterling silver contains an alloy, usually copper. British scientists discovered that replacing some of the copper with a germanium alloy, resulted in a dramatic decrease in the rate of oxidation.
