Yes it does work. This unit was manufactured in the 70’s & does not produce the sound quality of what u would buy today. That having been said, if u r sincerely interested in purchasing, I’m sure I can get my hands on a cassette tape & make certain it would meet your expectation. LMK.

@gr8offer actually, a lot of the electronics made during g that time were superior to todays. Especially since cassettes are not in use much anymore, no one is making higher end components now.
