St. Cuthbert "Images of Inspiration” Celtic Plate - Limited Edition

This Celtic design plate was created by Anne Bowyer for Nexus Design in a limited edition of 5,000 in the 1990s. This is 919/5,000 and signed "A. Bower" on the back. The design is from the Lindisfarne Gospels and is tan/orange and navy on white with a gold rim detail. The plate honors St. Cuthbert who was renowned for his love of birds (yay bird nerds!). He was a saint of the early Northumbrian church in the Celtic tradition and associated with the monasteries of Melrose and Lindisfarne in North East England and the South East of Scotland. It is bone china made in Britain measuring 10 7/8" in diameter. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and no surface wear to note.
