I have seen a lot of Kanekns for sale on Poshmark, and may of them are fake. These are pictures of a REAL bag. All Kankens have a Swedish flag attached on the right side of the white tag that you write your name on. If the bag does not have the Swedish flag, it’s a FAKE. The back of the bottom (the one that connects the top handles should have WASA printed on the back)

seed0 Not all kankens have the Swedish flag; some editions in the past have come without it. In fact, a lot of fake kankens have been manufactured recently /with/ the Swedish flag sewn on it, so it’s not a surefire way to tell a real from a fake. Same goes for the WASA 6 on the buttons. Best way to tell a fake from a real one is by checking the texture of the fabric and making sure the Fox logo resembles the one in the photo where the texture is subtle and smooth.

hamsterjane I second what @seed0 wrote. The Swedish flag started showing up in Kanken packs in 2017-2018ish. The logo even changed in 2018. The BEST way to tell is by the inside label, and the material.

lisanyn @seed0 Yep. I got my Kanken around 2017 on the official website, and it doesn't have the Swedish flag like the newer ones.

joycetruong it’s very upsetting to see fake kankens listed and the seller claiming it’s authentic. it’s very obvious by the material, and the inside of the buttons of the top handle should say WASA 6. the pictures the seller posts clearly shows the fake material and the buttons of the top handle doesn’t say WASA 6. someone commented asking if it was authentic and they replied “yes love !”

_desiree_garcia Another way to tell is the inner seam by the zipper will be braided, if it is in-authentic it’ll usually not have the braiding and will start to fray.

hamsterjane @schuschu17 Hahaha! Hey there! If you bought directly from the LEGITIMATE Fjallraven website (there are lots of fakes), then no. The swedish flags are a relatively new Kanken development. Not ALL Kankens have them.

reegbean @kyleesoutfit looking forward to hearing how it works out for you. Hoping that it is authentic. I noticed in one of the images that the button said WASA 6 on it, which is usually only on the original bags. The emblem is also multiple colors, and fake bags usually only have the Swedish emblem as one color. When you get the bag, test out the white patch on the front in a low lit room. These patches are supposed to serve as a reflective type material.

mahivr Hello, can someone help look at the bag I purchased yesterday? I am worried now and want to be sure it is authentic since I did pay $50 for it. Closet name is samanthasquared. I see the inner tag has "This bag is climate compensated" which can mean it is fake? Not sure.

alicecicicy But this one is FAKE! First, an authentic one should have Coat of arms of Sweden logo on the bottom of the name pad. Second, there is a EAC certification logo on a white label but I don’t see in your.
