It only operates on 3 Triple-A batteries Split-Ender PRO and PRO2 Versions have a rechargeable batteries. You must charge the battery for 5 hours before using the Split-Ender or it will not work properly (NEVER LEAVE THE UNIT CHARGING OVERNIGHT).
