So i wanted to make a post to spread the history of Dr. Angie King. Most of my vintage home decor and items comes from her home. This is Angie Turner King and my husband's gran used to take care of her in her later years and then her grandson. They both had traveled the world and collected amazing items. Sadly the house sold and no one could hold onto all the stuff and her daughter just wanted a few things. I hope you can appreciate the history of where some of these things came from. Not only was she the First Black woman to get a PhD in Chemistry she did amazing work for West Virginia State University which is an HBCU in WV. But she did a lot of work for women. She came up and had a rough upbringing but turned it around and became a National Treasure and State Hero. I'm so proud to have her items throughout my home and I hope you will too!

zireaelhavcaren @momofroc thast cool! `My husband and mother in law always talked about her and her son, i think he was a nephew or something she took in, so when i googled her and i found she was the first black woman with her PHDs in science and math, i just thought it was so cool. I wish i could have gotten more things, her house was filled with all kinds of stuff, sadly the things we did get are ones i don't have room for, i also love any items where you know who had it and the history of it

zireaelhavcaren @theedysue truly! she went through so much hardship and accomplished the almost impossible for a black woman at the time. She set an example for little girls everywhere to work hard and you can push through the muck and rise on top

zireaelhavcaren @cofounta I know thats why I wanted to make a post for her since she did a lot and even growing up in WV never heard of her. but I figured since I inherited some of her home items that I wanted people to know who they belonged too especially someone like Miss Angie.
