it's not a full space heater as it blows out warm air. It works really well as a fan. maybe a foot tall hit the power button to turn on the first fan setting, and either once or twice more for a higher fan speed. make sure it's off and then hold the power button for a couple moments until the fan turns red for the space warming part. there is an automatic turn off if it falls over- see video of this
