Slave Tag (Badge)

We’ve finally decided to sell the collection of Slave Tags. When I was a kid. My Dad built and remodeled homes. He was remodeling an old home in St. Francisville, La. It was also used as a Confederate hospital and Union Headquarters during the Siege of Port Hudson. We were redoing the vents that you’ll find at the bottom of the walls. They were used to ventilate the home. Inside one of the walls was a satchel. Inside were 7 Slave Tags, Various Love letters, dried flowers and 3 small locks of hair. We’ve kept them since then. Our son has no interest in history or these. If something happens to us they will either end up in the landfill or at Goodwill. We don’t want that. UGA did authenticate them. As well as LSU. These that have been found sell for up to $10,500. Perfect for putting up for a child’s college.
