Butch skynear Skynear’s mediums include oils, mixed media, sculpture, folding panels, and prints. The end result is a piece of art that speaks to the viewer not only in common sense but on a level that needs no explanation. In the past, Skynear worked in a highly developed mixed media technique using air-brushed lacquer with brass, aluminum, and colored fiberglass resin inlays. His sculpture and mixed media are an extension of the earlier technique. The shapes and forms he has chosen are often those past cultures endowed with significant social and ritualistic importance.
