tiffanieandco @ruesanfrancisco hi there! Isn't it nice. I'm almost certain those are real gemstones. Iv still yet to perform a Mohes hardness test to see where on the hardness scale they fall. tiffanieandco @riglem65 sorry about delay in getting back. I’m not certain what the metal is. I have a tester although it’s old and time consuming (directions are misplaced). I’ll be testing many items listed and soon to be listed in the very near future. I haven’t seen a stamp yet. It’s not tarnished like silver does. It feels like platinum and the stones feel real as well, hence the price, just in case. I know just a bit but learning everyday. This hands on stuff is the best. I’ll let you know ASAP.

vtgcovergirl @tiffanieandco You might consider just taking it to the mall or somewhere next time you’re out too. Might be easier. I bought a kit from amazon that wasn’t too expensive. Apparently they’re not foolproof though. I saw someone trying to sell an Afghan Kuching coin necklace recently, and they swore the coins tested positive for sterling lol... I tried to tell them I have the same coins etc, but it was no use 🙃🙃🙃

tiffanieandco @riglem65 good idea! I don’t think it’s silver. Probably not gold either but the stones I’m really curious about. Oh and I have a pink quarts rounded stone that hangs like a choker and this stone got so hot I couldn’t keep it on. I’m certain it’s quartz. Can this be an energy thing? Did you say gemstones stay cold? I’m curious about this. When you have a moment. Thank you.

vtgcovergirl @tiffanieandco I’ve never heard of that for quart but how COOL is that?? You’re probably exactly right about the energy thing too. I’d google that and see if you can find out. Typically if you want to know quickly if you’re holding real stones or fakes, that’s the thing to do is grasp them in your hand because they will feel markedly cool.

vtgcovergirl @tiffanieandco The new one that I have only requires a drop of the chemical for testing, and a stone that comes with it. You still have to be really careful obviously but I never smell anything, rather I’m careful not to get it on my skin.

Not sure how it would help by telling the Afghans you have one. 😆 and won’t be smelling the chemicals with my testing kit, nor will I be tasting it cuz you’ll think I’m strange ...Hehe.
