Exquisite handcrafted cuff bracelet made by Navajo artist Wilson Begay. The coloring consists of Spiny oyster shells, Lapis, and Malachite. It has a traditional style in a medium wieght that is comfortable and easy to wear.
About the Artist: About the Artist: Wilson Begay and his wife Carol have been making traditional Diné sandcast jewelry since 1969. They carve out the design in a piece of tufa stone, pour molten silver into the mold and hand finish every piece once it has cooled. Additional techniques include stampwork, mosaic inlay and chisel work. After Wilson does the silver work on each piece of jewelry, Carol does the stone setting and finishing work.
Wilson's stamped signature is a flat brimmed
Navajo hat with his initials under it. His signature is one of the most recognized in Indian jewelry. His work has won top awards at the Gallup Inter-tribal Ceremonial and is a
"must have" for serious collectors of contemporary Indian jewelry.
