The white (salt) has some cracks running through it. They are underneath the surface of the glaze (see pics). I do not see any in the pepper shaker, but it is harder to see on that one & there may be some, but are just harder to see. I see no chips & the cracks are not easily seen & do not take away from how cute these are. Sold as is. Feel free to ask questions
