STUDIO ART Signed Gold Pie Plate Dish Hand Thrown Glazed Stoneware 10”

Beautiful bakeware made by Utah artist Joseph Bennion. He has been a studio artist since 1982 and is known for wood fired treadle wheel thrown functional stoneware. Surface techniques include alterations in the wet stage, made with Bennion's fingers and simple tools at the end of the throwing process. Bennion often adds salt to the atmosphere of the wood kiln to enhance the glaze effects. Finished wares appear in a variety of earth toned colors. Excellent condition. I don’t think it has ever been used. It’s so lovely to have out as a decorative piece as well. Circumference is 10”
