The Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis line was first introduced in 1998. In French "vernis" means varnish which explains the shiny and sparkly effect of the bags. It is a monogram embossed coated leather which is like patent leather and has been released in many different colors throughout the years. Although very difficult to see, there is an area of darkening/stain on the exterior vernis unnoticeable except with very close examination in brightest light due to the dark blue color of the bag. The vachetta leather is in excellent condition with some minor subtle stains. The hardware is bright and shiny with some faint hairline scratches. The interior is in very good condition. There is no original shoulder strap, but an unbranded matching adjustable replacement is included. The blue vernis is lovely, brighter in full light and darker in indirect light, like all LV vernis richly colored bags. The bag measures 12.99" in width, 9.45" in height, and 4.92" in depth
