alexa_prisco @silverdancer275 hey there! Sorry for taking a second. I purchased that from the estate sale as a really wealthy music producer. She was like a 90 year old woman and her 70 year old son was handling her estate. It’s on canvas and you can see the paint. So it’s the original. It’s not a canvas transfer. My moms a famous painter so I grew up in the art world. I can have my mom confirm or contact Christie’s.

alexa_prisco @silverdancer275 They sell prints and lithographs online. But this is neither. It’s the original painting. I can take some pictures so show you. It’s from 1954 and looks like it when you open it up and take it off the Masonite. They didn’t start doing canvas transfers until the 60’s. And in prints the paint flicks are erasedthe original lithographs are thousands. And this is the original canvas painting that sold in 2015 for 30,000. It’s a super famous painting by M soyer in 54

silverdancer275 @alexa_prisco You are SO KIND to get all that information. Obviously, I cannot afford the original. Do you happen to know the name of the painting? Please don't take any more time to research, but if you happen to know it, it would save me a little research and I could buy a print for myself for Christmas! How lucky you were to grow up around such lovers of beauty!

alexa_prisco @silverdancer275 it’s Moses Soyer 54 “dancers reposed”— the prints don’t seem to capture the depth created by the canvas but the lithographs do somewhat. his paintings sell in the 5-11k range (his less famous ones). This one SOLD at 30 or 33k (I didn’t pay anywhere near that so I would never sell it for that. but I would try to keep it as low as I can for an original. can feel the canvas, so I know it is, but it want to be positive. I think you might like it more than me. 🤗
