Unique, vintage Ostby Barton 10K ring size 6 with hearts on shank and detailing with small bows at top & bottom of the setting. Oval onyx in raised bezel setting. The onyx has the Stars emblem in gold & enamel. This is a rare piece of history likely pre-1912. The Ostby Barton Company jewelry firm was established in 1879 in Providence, RI. It was the largest producer of gold rings in the US during that time. Mr. Ostby was among the 1,500 passengers who perished on the Titanic on April 15, 1912.

Thank you for the like and the shares! I bought it because it's such a unique piece but I can't wear it because my grandmother was a Star and since I'm not I didn't feel right out of respect.

@wholeheartedly I'm so sorry I literally just sold that ring on eBay! I bought it and I wasn't a member of the fraternal organization but because there are Scottish Rite Masons, Shriners and Stars in my immediate family, and because I couldn't commit to making the meetings, I never wore it. I was afraid someone in those organizations would ask me and while I would have no problem saying "I just bought the ring because I thought it was gorgeous" I didn't want to put family in a bad position. I have a lot if things listed on eBay that aren't here (cara_princess). Let me know please if you see something else you like!

@wholeheartedly I'm sorry I meant my phone is not charging and I can't edit listings on Posh from my computer. I had also listed this ring and many other items not listed on Posh on my eBay site and someone bought it last week. I'm sorry it took me a while to change the listing.

@vivasm I wish I had known the ring was going to a lady who would wear it knowing what it signifies. It sold on eBay months ago. I will tag you if I list any of my vintage/antique jewelry. I don't have any more Star items (I don't think) and my grandfather's lariat, etc (he was 32nd Degree Scottish Rite & Shriner) I am never parting with. His rings per tradition went to my uncle, also 32nd deg Scottish Rite Mason & Shriner. 😘
