SIGNED FD FRED DAVIS STERLING SILVER WHALE BROOCH

Makah tribal whale pin brooch made by FD of sterling silver. Stamped & signed FD with STR ON THE BACK. Researching on the FD stamp, I believe the makers full name to be Fred Frederick Davis. Hailing from Illinois he moved to Mexico in 1910 as a silversmith and made Mexican Native sterling jewelry. Opened up a gallery which became popular to the residents. He died in 1961. It was from his earlier collection from the style of his signature stamp. 2" long and 1 1/4" tall at its highest point
