SHOWSTOPPER 1930s' FRENCH NAVY STRAW FEDORA - MULTICOLORED GROSGRAIN BAND

What a stunning import from Avignon, Provence, France! This 1930s' creation shows incredible workmanship, which is refined, more complex and different than hats created elsewhere. You can feel the difference when inspecting the hat! It consists of fine navy straw, whose crown is tall, has a fold in the center front, and is rounded at the top. The wide brim is wider at the front, and upturned. surrounding the crown there is a band made of several colors of grosgrain, with a center bow. Amazing collector's item. Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Folded, molded, and angled felt made hats look like something out of a Picasso painting. There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
