luvjojos_closet The Poshmark server has “watchdog software” that protects the Poshmark server from over usage. If a closet shares more than a certain number of shares per a certain time period, the PM server will ignore any further shares. That is “share jail”, or “being blocked”.

luvjojos_closet The “certain number of shares” is a few hundred shares per hour. That is during the day. At night the watchdog software is more strict, and the number of shares allowed is less. These are rough numbers, it’s hard to know the true value. And “per hour” is just an estimate at how often Poshmark counts shares. The watchdog software may be more complex, taking into consideration the number of shares made in the last 12 hours or so.

luvjojos_closet Share jail duration is a function of the severity of the infraction. It could be anywhere from minutes to hours. Share jail always ends at the top of the hour. If you are in share jail, and you try to share on your iPhone app or iPad app, you will receive an error message, “Error. Try again later”.

luvjojos_closet But on the PC browser version, you will receive the message, “Shared successfully!”. The PC browser version does not give an error message, so the only way to know if you’re blocked is to regularly check the “Updated” time on your closet items.

luvjojos_closet The same applies to liking and commenting. All of these activities are considered in the watchdog software. You will be able to post new items and edit items while you are in share jail. Poshmark allows that. Share jail happens to Poshers who have their family and friends helping them share. All that sharing happening at one time will cause that closet to get blocked for a period of time.

All the groups I have left to share for were all by hostess that replied to me and were understanding. So hopefully I’ll be okay for the remainder of the weekend. luvjojos_closet @betty_white Share Jail is when the Posh system puts you on share lock down. You are not able to share anyone's items. Not even your own. Posh, like most sites, have a detective computer monitor. When you are sharing large amounts of items it begins to think you are actually a hacker robot. So to be sure they freeze your sharing abilities.

If you follow more than 10k new followers in a 24 hour period the Posh system will lock you up and not let you follow anyone for 24 hours. Comment jail is the same thing accept I do not know the actual number of comments before they lock you down

luvjojos_closet @letsgotravel That is a different issue. Share Jail will not allow you to share your items or anyone else's. And it is up to Posh to remove that block. The issue you are having is an issue with the Posh update recently. It has done the same thing to mine. I would suggest you contact Posh and see if they are working on a fix.

But others were only locked up for 12 hours. My understanding is that the late night shares are looked at by this program more than during daytime hours. I hope this helps. lynda721 @therackrepublic @luvjojos_closet The reason they do it more often at night is that everyone uses their “Auto Share Bots” that they bought and downloaded on their computers to share their listings automatically. You set up the frequency, time to start/end, and how long (hours/minutes). That is how a closet will have millions of shares and you can also program them to follow people. Poshmark doesn’t like this.

You have to be careful though. There are some Share Bots that don’t work well and are a huge rip off. My numbers are all through blood, sweat and tears, baby! 📲👈🏻 😂

ashleyrancourt @poshcandyshop I’ve been in jail for weeks and when I email them they say a safeguard was triggered due to high shares and won’t tell me why, or for how long. They have been less than nice. I share daily and somehow that has bitten me in the butt and I’ve lost so much money as a result. I haven’t made a sale in a few weeks as a result . I’m so frustrated. They make you feel like you’ve done something wrong

alexs70 I have a 5 star rating and customers like my packaging and notes 😊 then with this last batch of sales one was damaged in shipping and posh reimbursed the customer but not me for my damaged item. That hurt! I persisted and have tried to post and share and follow... since this shipping ding I’m not getting reciprocal shares, where I normally have. I think I’m in jail and it makes no sense considering my previous history.

alexs70 @gypsyrella thanks! I’ll be interested to know what they tell you. This practice poshmark has of locking people down sounds counterintuitive! Their algorithm or whatever they do, sound take into account your history. I feel I’ve been a good customer and seller. I’ve had the captcha screen pop up last year when trying to follow and share... they say that’s what makes sales so that’s what I try to do!!?!?! Makes no sense for regular people to get hurt by the practices of people who use bots.

mymoxiedreams @luvjojos_closet I’m new and watched some videos on how to get exposure and followers. Inthought is take advantage of this quarantine we are under & started around 6pm - target following people, followed new closets & posh ambassadors, like me- must have hit the 10k per day mark and am in jail now. 😔 didn’t even know it existed. I just started getting error message when I tried to follow back. Do you know how long I will be blocked from following?

I tried to share my items to a current party and I keep getting the message “ You don’t meet the party guidelines” eventho I do.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t share much so I don’t quite understand Poshmark’s logic.. Isn’t Poshmark in the business of making $? If I make money, they make money.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They really have some odd rules. Thanks again!!!

haveitloveit Commenting here currently serving some hard time in share jail XD All jokes aside, it's incredibly frustrating. There should be a way to override the watchdog software if you're indeed a seller and not a robot. Don't they realize the more we share, the more money we, and ostensibly PM, stands to make? I understand needing protections in place, but this is ridiculous.

poshsouthbelle I shared to a new user’s bundle since said user liked something of mine this morning. User started following me last night. I thought it was an odd account with its 50 exact listings from my same city I had literally just made public for Holiday shipping purposes.

poshsouthbelle I hopped onto another platform on another device, and by the time I went to read the reply, the bundle disappeared and unsold bundles never go away. I shared that entire closet last night. Nothing in my share activity, and user had no listings. I got to the bundle via the email link about their bundle comment, and told them I didn’t know what they were about, best of luck. Then I noticed I couldn’t share anything.

poshsouthbelle I changed my password and tried different things to unjam my sharing ability to no avail. I’d never heard of such, but I guess this is it. I’ve always had family help me share. I don’t recall anything saying it wasn’t allowed when I signed up and read the etiquette. My kid gets allowance to help! 😅

poshsouthbelle @sspc on any other marketplace facilitator like this, or sell on your own website. I’ve had lots of problems since joining in 2019, but usually only during parties when I would just see a spin dial, yet my husband’s account would work fine. The sharing stuff started up again followed by the app going blank, then I couldn’t log in on a Mac or pc. “Try again later”.

poshsouthbelle @sspc so when I finally got the support part of the app to semi load, I submitted a request. They wouldn’t admit to the platform jailing me, but responded with “it’s a known bug we’re working to fix” then access was back, no issues since.

poshsouthbelle @sspc that last incident was as soon as a party started. They will remove whatever the problem is. They want to make money on here, and don’t want to lose sellers. Same time, they have whatever in place to try to keep the platform safe since it sort of runs itself.

poshsouthbelle Actually I think they called it a “glitch”. The software first started messing with my sharing when I shared something to a buyer’s bundle that got his account taken down. But, the buyer was either a hacker or a posh psyop. I think I told them that, and how I knew. 😅

ccsqna I seem to not be able to share after the first 10-15 minutes of a party anymore. It says "Shared Successfully" But I used to get 500-700 notifications during an Party, now I struggle to reach 200. I used to get 20+ likes during each party, now I get THREE during those first 10-15 minutes and then nothing. No new likes, no new shares even?!?!?!?! This is new as of August.

lesliecarter770 hi there, so before I went to bed last night I checked on my items and I see that I have likes and I go to put into a bundle and it throws me right back out and off the Poshmark site, it will let me share others but I am unable to share my items and unable to get back to anyone to give them a bundle price or even just for one item. this happened around 9pm last night and still unable to share or do anything that pertains to my closet..what is this?

lcm1717 @ccsqna this just happened to me for the first time, I'm so confused I used to be able to share through the whole party and not just once per listing. many times per listing because I would get a lot of shares back so I could tell my listings were being shared multiple times. now tg tonight only the first part of the party my listings were shared Have you figured this out?

peacefulsea The protections that Poshmark has from actually doint what the program tells you to is RIDICULOUS. I have been subject to a series of 48 screens of find-the-hydrant/stairs/bicycles/motorcycles etc when using the share tool. I am so fed up with this. And TODAY I hit the "share limit" while trying to share others' items!!!! Why do these auto share programs exist if we are told we overshare? Why do we get incentives (today it's "win $100 by sharing others' items") then told-reached ur share limit?

jenniferkidd339 Just found this post from google search. Thanks for the info!! I have about 1300 active listings & just got thrown into share jail for “over-sharing”, ridiculous!! I usually share my whole closet on my iPad & while it’s doing its thing I’m on my phone following back & returning shares, so maybe the security system flags me as sharing too fast, since the iPad/iPhone are sharing at once? Wondering how LONG I’ll be stuck like this!!
