SENSATIONAL 1940s' BROWN FELT TILT HAT WITH RUST FEATHER SPRAY AND HEAVY VEIL

This is truly a sensational piece of fashion history! This 1940s' brown felt tilt hat is made in a top-hat style. The crown is tall and tubular, surrounded by a narrow, upturned brim.There are 2 felt straps attached to the hat, gathered by an elastic circle. This strap holds this hat in a tilted position. There are magnificent rust colored feathers with quills attached to one side. To complete the look, there is a matching color, heavy veil around the crown. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. Label: No label; only an illegible print inside the hat. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
