i'm new to poshmark and of course when i received a comment regarding about purchasing the shoes listed on my page , i was excited !! but i was thinking to myself , if this person wants me to email them , why can't this person just contact me through poshmark . i didn't think shit of it until i was emailing this person back and forth . then , i did my research and found out it was s scam . if someone emails you and it looks like this or something similar , DO NOT FALL FOR IT !!

canye_east do not be unaware and give out your info like i did !! i had a funny feeling about it until i asked them for an address before i gave them mine . that's when i thought everything was going to be legit until i did my research . PLEASE , IF YOU GET ANYTHING SIMILAR TO THIS , DON'T FALL FOR IT . IF THEY DON'T HAVE A PROFILE PICTURE OR ANYTHING LISTED ON THEIR PAGE , DON'T FALL FOR IT . IF THEY SETUP THEIR ACCOUNT A DAY BEFORE SENDING YOU A COMMENT ON ONE OF YOUR ITEMS , DO NOT FALL FOR IT !!

canye_east ALWAYS GO WITH YOUR GUT INSTINCT !! i knew something was wrong the moment i was emailing this person . i'm glad this happened to me . this was a great lesson learned . i will never make this mistake EVER again . fortunately , i didn't send anything out and the person stopped bothering me once i caught on to the fact that it was a scam !! DO NOT DO BUSINESS OUTSIDE OF POSHMARK !! DON'T GIVE OUT ANY EMAILS !! and if someone is telling you they're going to send you a check it's a fraud !!

canye_east make sure that person makes an offer through poshmark and when you do finally make transactions , make sure it's somewhat safe for both parties involved . be safe on these apps everyone !! and happy shopping !! // checkout some of my listings while you're here . :)

samygoesrawr I'm so sorry this happened to you. But it makes me feel a little better it's not just me unfortunately I did not find out till once I cashed checks and was being harassed had to go to the police station and talk to them. And And bring money to bank tomorrow. Was very scared but now I'm aware and won't accept any emails only offers through here

canye_east @samygoesrawr thank you !! i'm sorry that this happened to you too !! no one deserves to get scammed . and it's worst once you're first starting out on poshmark and don't have the knowledge of pointing out whose a scammer or not . that's why i made this post . and trust me , i felt a little relieved once i did my research and found out i wasn't the only one going through the same thing too . now , i usually just block and report the scammers every time i see them .

on_the_rocks81 @canye_east I got these same messages about 3-4 times. The first one I actually fell for bc I was new to posh as well, but I caught on quick and started asking them questions. They said that their "assistant" would be in my area on business in a week or so and would pick the shoes up then. I was like "how do you know that your assistant will be in my town when I didn't even tell you where I live?

on_the_rocks81 @canye_east they stopped emailing me after that question. It's always for shoes. They target new poshers and I think that it may be the same person and they just change their name daily and close out their old accounts daily bc after the first time, I was reporting them all to posh and all their comments were deleted from my posts so it looks like I'm responding to nobody 😂

canye_east @crinpoke when i first started out , i kept getting messages on the same pair of shoes the first scammer tried to get me on . i don't know if there's multiple people behind this or just one person , but somethings telling me it's the same person . either way , the shit is pissin me off .

on_the_rocks81 @canye_east I haven't had any problems since I posted my first pair of adidas tubular virals and my frye boots. The first time when they asked me to email bc they were at work I was like sure, ok I can do that. But when they wanted my name address and phone number and claimed to have their assistant coming to my town in a couple weeks -when they didn't even know where I lived- I was like nuh uhh

on_the_rocks81 They go after the expensive shoes, they ask if they're still available when they clearly are, so even responding to that is annoying, then they give an excuse why email or texting is better for them (US MILITARY 😂😂👍🏼) yet their English is so ridiculously broken... I report asap now
