SALE Vintage Mid Century Black Net Hat Vincent de Koven

SALE A most unusual vintage hat. From mid-century designer Vincent de Koven, it has us puzzled on a couple fronts. It has thin (1/8") bands in concentric pattern. The bands are covered with a pleated flocked net. At the crown, it is only the net for a more open look. There is an interior black velvet band that separates brim from crown. A pretty pink rose sits atop the crown. The hat, however, is unstructured --there is no wire to hold its shape. In that way, it resembles a slouch hat. In addition, the rose is on top over the label, which traditionally sits at the back of the head. The rose looks better placed to the front of the face. Size: 5 1/2" brim; 4" tall; 23" inner band circumference; 16" wingspan. Condition: net is in good shape, note the lack of structure #93202b
