myfurryfamily @rosemcnab the "P" stands for 'plumb' or 'true' after karat mark to show the item was produced under tightened standards. U.S. Congress amended law reducing negative tolerance to only 3/1000 after JC Penney caused an uproar about 13.5K metals (1976). Manufacturers have dropped the P. This must be an older 💍
