All Saints Signature Piece - patterned after a parachute. It ties in a variety of ways to create different hemlines. Cords can be tightened or let out at your whim. This rare piece is spectacular... layer it up for winter, bare it for summer. There are so many yards of fabric here, it's a heavy piece . . . but totally comfortable. onceuponathyme Here's my take on the parachute dresses... The lightest weight one is the other black one with bead work. It's REALLY easy to wear that one - to toss it on over jeans or leggings and go. Put a long sleeve Tee under it in the fall and winter, and keep wearing it. It's still dramatic, but lightweight and pretty easy to figure out how to tie it. The two "true" parachutes - the black and the ditzy - they're much more complicated, they take more time getting on and tying the way you like them... I have them all in my closet, and I've worn the lightest one the most. The other two are more "occasion" dresses . . . you don't get up in the morning and put them on to hang out in, go grocery shopping, etc. You put them on to go to a party, a special meal, a wedding, etc... At least that's how it's worked out with me. All three pieces are wonderful, but it all depends on what you're looking for and what you want to use them for. Of the black and the ditzy - they are very similar, but the Ditzy fabric is a little slicker and softer, IMO. I hope that's helpful.

onceuponathyme @classylola I'm 5'7" ... 5'8" if I stretch my neck. :-) Yes, the white and black are made the same. This is pretty much as long as this gets (although I hitched up the front slightly). You can make it as short as you want by tying up more of the bottoms. I think the Ditzy ties up the easiest, because the fabric isn't as bulky.

onceuponathyme @classylola Let's put it this way; I'd put it on for a special lunch. I'd wear it out to dinner. I WOULDN'T cook dinner in it, clean the house in it, or sit around reading a book on the hammock in it. I MIGHT do those things in the Ditzy Parachute. I DO do those things in the light weight one with the embroidery - but - that said - the lightweight one I treat like it's a tunic. I don't wear it out without leggings. OF course I pretty much put leggings on under everything! :-) I don't think anyone but you can tell you what you want. You've been wanting the one like the white one forever, for some reason . . . what's your reasoning? Either you love it or you don't! The black and the ditzy are work - you have to play around with them, experiment, figure out different ways to tie it until you're satisfied. But there are a lot of choices. Actually, the way I'm wearing the white one is probably the least comfortable way to wear it - The asymmetrical shoulder thing was not as comfy as the "regular" way. But I thought it looked cool. As with much fashion, you have to figure out your own Style/Comfort/Practicality/Fashion Quotient. For example, even though Jenna loves her dress, and got it for her vow renewal in HI, she's thinking about whether she wants to take a dress that takes this much suitcase space and weight to HI. Would I? In a flash! And I wouldn't take much else. My bathing suits and a couple of wraps! You could even wear this as a long skirt over your bathing suit, or over a tee... so it's so versatile, why not? But it's worth it to me. Only you can figure out what you're looking for. :-D

luxyluv I used to have this in black and it was my FAVORITE dress ever!! (I lost it) but it us really cute w/light wash jeggings and some strappy pumps or even w/cropped boyfriend jeans and a big ole handbag!!! There were sooo many great ways to wear this!!! onceuponathyme @elegantlady777 Sorry - I've been traveling. The dress is made of cotton - the entire dress - even the cords feel like a cotton cord. I had a white one for awhile. I washed it in cold water in a large pillow case and hung it to dry, but All Saints suggests dry cleaning. I have found they are pretty much one-size-fits all... they are very adjustable. I'd say the Small would fit a US 2-8 or 2-10, and the M/L would fit a 6-14...

onceuponathyme @elegantlady777 I washed my own on the delicate cycle in my washer, but ... it was a HUGE hassle getting it untangled afterwards. In the future I would either 1. Dry clean it (except I HATE dry cleaning, which is why I washed mine), 2. Hand wash it in my bathtub - the way I do Victorian dresses in my collection, or 3. Spot clean it until truly necessary to wash the entire thing. It's a lot of fabric and a lot of rope.
