Offering a (3) piece set of vintage Russian Matryoshka (Nesting) Dolls. Best known as a symbol of Russia, the dolls symbolize traditional values, respect for the elderly, unity of the extended family, fertility & abundance, & the search for truth & meaning. This pre-loved set depicts a girl with a red head covering & stoic expression. Unlike others I’ve seen, these wooden dolls are flat at the top. They are painted in a lacquered finish in red with black, & decorative details in translucent green & pink. Each doll has slight variations of color & detail. The largest doll measures about 4.25” tall, with a stamped “Made in USSR” at the bottom. Each doll opens so the smaller dolls fit into the larger. These vintage dolls are in good condition (see pics).
