This listing is for a Royal Copenhagen commemorative plate dated 1919. It depicts an image of Thyra Danebod, Queen of Denmark in the 10th century. The inscription: LEDET ER I LAVE means " The fence is restored" and refers to the border with Germany. It was made on the occasion of the reunification with the Northern part of Slesvig and was designed by Christian Thomsen. The plate is 9 3/4 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition. Factory first numbered 179.
The blue looks much softer than in the photograph.
