Rosenthal China Portrait Demitasse Tea Cup & Saucer Heavy Gold & Blue

This exquisite, rare Rosenthal portrait demitasse cup and saucer was made in 1953, and is as sparkling and colorful as a little jewel! It’s a lovely blue, heavily gilt with embellished gold trim, and in the center of BOTH the cup and saucer are hand painted portraits of classical Greeks/Romans. The handle and entire inside of the cup are heavily gilt with gold. A rare find both because Rosenthal didn’t do portraiture, and because there are portraits on both the cup and saucer! Espresso heaven!
