Item Details A 2010 commemorative art tile by Rookwood Pottery. The blue tile is glazed with light relief, the tile depicts the Carew Tower, Cincinnati with The Tyler Davidson Fountain visible to lower left. The tile was executed to recognize the Carew Tower, and inscribed to verso: “The Carew Tower was born of the booming 1920s, when architects around the world sought to design massive building complexes that would function as cities within cities. The decision to carry out the project during the depression was a vote of confidence in the future of the city”. The tile was designed and sculpted by Rookwood artist Gary Simon in 2010.
